Urgent Care Poster - Right Care / Right Place

Our GP practices and Community Pharmacies are working incredibly hard to keep their services operating and medicine supply flowing in this extremely challenging time

Medicines are NOT in short supply. Please only order the medicines that you need from your GP practice. Do not order all of your medicines automatically every time. Please tell the practice which pharmacy you wish to collect medicines from. GPs and Community Pharmacies will work together to ensure you get your medicines when they are due.  Pharmacies are extremely busy, please allow at least FIVE days from ordering your medicine to collection from the Community Pharmacy.

If you have any COVID-19 symptoms (new continuous cough, fever, shortness of breath) or had contact with someone with corona virus DO NOT go to your Community Pharmacy. Stay at home and self-isolate.  Please ask someone else to collect your medicines

A New Pharmacy Service ....

A New Pharmacy Service is now available to Ayrshire and Arran patients which provides access to self-care advice   for the treatment of IMPETIGO (bacterial skin infection)  for children and adults aged from 2 years and simple Urinary Tract Infections (UTI) in non-pregnant women  aged 16 - 64 years old.

PLEASE NOTE:  You do NOT need to take a urine sample to the Chemist.

After assessment and where appropriate, a community pharmacist can supply antibiotics, free of charge, to treat the infection.  Offering professional advice and treatment in pharmacies not only takes pressure off GP Services, including Out-of-hours, but also makes it easier for people to get help without having to make an appointment.

Community pharmacies are open six days a week, and some operate in the evenings and on Sundays.

Another new pharmacy service ......

Our patients with High Blood Pressure or on Blood Pressure medication can have their Blood Pressure checked, free of charge, by our Pharmacist at TOWNHEAD PHARMACY. An appointment can be made by calling us at the surgery (you will be given an appointment with details of your day & time & venue) and you will be seen either at the Surgery Clinic or at Townhead Pharmacy, Pennyburn.  There is also an option for a drop-in at the Pharmacy.. check with local Pharmacies.
