Urgent Care Poster - Right Care / Right Place

Our GP practices and Community Pharmacies are working incredibly hard to keep their services operating and medicine supply flowing in this extremely challenging time

Medicines are NOT in short supply. Please only order the medicines that you need from your GP practice. Do not order all of your medicines automatically every time. Please tell the practice which pharmacy you wish to collect medicines from. GPs and Community Pharmacies will work together to ensure you get your medicines when they are due.  Pharmacies are extremely busy, please allow at least FIVE days from ordering your medicine to collection from the Community Pharmacy.

If you have any COVID-19 symptoms (new continuous cough, fever, shortness of breath) or had contact with someone with corona virus DO NOT go to your Community Pharmacy. Stay at home and self-isolate.  Please ask someone else to collect your medicines

Appointment System

keyboardstethOur Appointment system offers the following type of appointments:

Triage Nurses will be available everyday between 8:30 – 10:30 to speak to patients who feel that they need an emergency appointment for that day. Patients phone Switchboard and their name and contact number will be taken for a Triage Nurse to call the patient back to determine the right person to see them.

Many patients wish to book ahead. There are a large number of pre-bookable appointments available for each doctor every day at various times. This helps patients who like to see a particular doctor or who need to be reviewed on a regular basis, - for chronic illnesses. These appointments can be booked up to 4-8 weeks in advance.

Telephone consultations  are available to patients who do not need to be examined by a doctor or nurse.  They can be used to discuss recent hospital letters., results or problems with medication. When making telephone consultations patients are given a specific time that the doctor will phone them.

We now provide surgeries every Tuesday Evenings 5:30 to 7:30pm. Advance bookings for those unable to attend during the day.

For emergencies still use out-of-hours service - Contact number NHS24 on 111
